Film festivals are a unique way of creating a buzz within the industry, bringing together filmmakers, actors, directors, and professionals in all areas of cinema. The iHollywood Film Festival is the first film festival to award a Best Digital Series / NFT Category. IHFF is an active participant in the Hollywood Chamber and a member of the Entertainment, Arts & Media, and Tourism committees. It will be a 3-day event from September 6-8 and there will be a kickoff red carpet party on September 1, from 7-10 pm at 361 Vernon Avenue, Venice.
IHFF was founded with the goal of inspiring creative expression with a focus on Web3. The line-up has been carefully selected to inspire and excite artists and filmmakers, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to showcase their work in front of a new audience.
One of the NFT movies that will be screened will be “Couples Therapy” directed by Katie Chonacas. This award-winning web series, which was first screened at several Web2 Film Festivals like the Cannes World Film Festival, IndieX Film Fest, and Independent Shorts Awards, has been awarded Best New Media.
Couples Therapy is a family-friendly improv comedy series that highlights the couple, Katie and Nicky, seeking telemedicine expertise played by Alessandra Levy to help gain a healthier perspective. The show captured comedy-lovers’ hearts with the therapists’ confusing and wacky advice, combined with the authentic reactions of the co-hosts.
In a brief interview, Katie Chonacas, a TV, Film, and VO Actor who has been in the industry for over two decades, expressed her gratitude, “I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Film Festival organizers for recognizing independent filmmakers. It's great that they are giving us an opportunity to have our work seen and appreciated by so many people! "
Web3 Films, or “Film3” are emerging and the iHollywood Film Festival is the first to celebrate and award these movies, which have earned their way in the world of independent films.
Couples Therapy can also be streamed on RAD NFTV, the first streaming platform powered by NFTs. Chonacas partnered with early blockchain adopters and industry leaders. Powered by future core technologies like blockchain and XR, RAD is reimagining global streaming for the current era with NFTs, on-demand, live events, and TV featuring the top content creators and studios in the world.
Film3 also introduced the community-based nature of film production and distribution that is made possible by decentralized streaming, offering a glimpse into the not-so-distant future.
People need to know more about blockchain and its potential impact, so they will stop seeing it as just another fad or trend and instead see it as a revolutionary technology that has the power to change everything we know about everything today.
