There was a Ted talk on it. It was a five minute Ted talk with Arianna Huffington on sleep. And I'm looking at the TV screen and energetically, like her energy is like so connected with mine. And I'm just like, what am I going to meet you? And I'm be known to me. I'm in New York city with my godmother during New York fashion week I'm Valentine's day, my godmother and I, we go to this event on Mercer street and Arianna comes in with her black Cape and like five of her body hurts. I would right up to her. I put my hand out and I introduced myself and I told her, you know who I was.
And then she just looked at me and pointed at me like this. And she says, I want you to write for me. And there was just like a moment of silence and my jaw dropped so low to the ground. And immediately I was like, yes, yes, yes, yes. And then everything else was a world when she went off and at the time her COO was code away and he looks at me, he's like I say, does she say that to everyone? He goes, he said, do you know who writes for the Huffington post Richard Branson, Dara?
I'm like, well then how does she know? And he's like, she just knows. She meets thousands of people a week. What's meant to be for you, is for you. And no one can take that away from you. I don't know how it was going to happen. I didn't know when it was going to happen, but along the path and on the journey, you stumble across these beautiful nuggets and you take it and you run after meeting Arianna, Huffington, something lifted off my head. It was like an expose. It was, it was an explosion only.
Okay. There's the same, like only you can hold yourself back. Well, only I could hold myself back in my world of limitlessness even I had restrictions and I have thought I couldn't be a writer. I thought no one would take me seriously as a writer because I didn't go to school for journalism. I didn't have a degree. I didn't have a piece of paper to say, oh, now you can be a writer. Or I can put this on my resume and go to a company and say, Hey, I want to write it for you. My advice to you is the sky's the limit, especially in today's society. And in the world of limitlessness, you know, you don't need, you know, a 10 year degree or a $400,000 degree.
All you need is you and build up you you're telling your skillset, you know? And, and don't let yourself be the judge of it when you're ready to show people or let it get out there. Because then that's where you start. Self-sabotaging there are so many talented writers, musicians, poets. There are so many talented people in the world and their talent stays in a closet because they don't have the skillsets or the courage to be able to just give it a whirl, give it a try, put it out there. The cool thing about writing is a lot of times you can submit your writing and you don't, they don't want to hear your voice.
You don't have to call them. You don't have to see them in person. So you're, you're behind a computer you're behind a closed door. And so, you know, the world's your oyster. Sometimes a lot of times in life, for some reason, we feel like we need permission. Like we need to get permission from someone or something. So hopefully I can be a stroke of inspiration for you. And I want to let you know, whatever your fantasy desires are in writing, whatever they may be. And right now you don't know everything. There's stuff to be discovered, which is super exciting.
I give you permission just to write, just to start writing, start exploring. Don't put a cap on anything, just do it, just do it. I gave you the permission. Just go out there, reach for the stars, reach for the sky and beyond you can do it. And guess what? Nobody will do it like you. It's very important to be inaction inspired in spirit to go, go, go, do, do, do BB B. So you can discover more of who you are.
