I've been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years now, and I've had successes in many different areas, and it's always been a desire of mine to share and gift insight of what I know what I've learned along the way, and in hopes to create more opportunities for you and your path. And hopefully you can learn from mine thus far. I have sought many mentors in life, whether it be people I've met or philosophers people, I've read being Greek, I'm really into soccer teas. And yeah, so let's just jump right in. Forgiveness is key. This is a song I'm sharing with you and now more than ever, I feel Forgiveness is so important.
Not only to forgive another person, not only for, to forgive situations that have happened in your life thus far, but to really focus on forgiving self as well. For me personally, I have forgiven other people in my life. One time I went to Greece for a month and I have flown many times by myself, places to meet people, but this was my first time flying somewhere to have an excursion journey, adventure all by myself. I did set it up that when I arrived to Greece, I had a friend pick me up and from the main land. And then I was flown on his helicopter to Mika house where I had family members.
So I was greeted by a familiar face and energy. And I was taken safely to the ILI Mykonos, where I spent four or five days with my beautiful cousin, Lizzy and my godmother Eliana. She's my fairy godmother. I love her so much. I look up to her and her family. They're mentors for me mentioning a moment ago, having mentors and people you idolize and look up to, it's important to have that fantasy dreamlike state and be able to have something that's not associated with what you already know to create new patterns, to create new ideas and narrow transmitters for opportunities.
So with that being said, I spent four or five days on the island and making dos joined them on their journey and their holiday for the summer. And then I, after, you know, spending some days, the chauffer at the resort took me to the port, the port in Mykonos, and then I would set sail and have that feeling inside of being alone, worry, fear, excitement, all the emotions you could think of and not came up. And I get a one-way ticket to Knox's, which is only about a 45 minute boat ride from ENS. And I went to Naxos and I, since I've been to Greece before, and this is a hack tip for you travelers, who like to go all over the place like me, when it's safe to safely fly everywhere again, I got a one-way ticket to Naxos.
What happens is when you arrive at the port of the island, you're going to there's all these hagglers like Greek hagglers who gifting, or they like they show because even if it says sold out, like you go in peak season, which I did, it's like August or whatever. And they're like, oh, you're going to find nothing. So then you're buying everything online. And if you don't know, then you don't know what you don't know. And you're like purchasing online and you're spending more money than you need to. But when you're going around to different islands in Greece, even if it's sold out, you can show up. And there are people at the port waiting for you waiting for people like me, who show up that don't have a place to stay. And literally, if you just want something where it's clean housekeeping, you have a lock box, there's wifi, and it's completely safe where you can just like put your bags down, but you're there more to explore the island.
If you're going to more of like of a luxury resort, then this would not be the hack for you. But if you're just going and you're wanting to basically have a place where it's safe to sleep and it's clean and we're your stuff can be safe and you can definitely get a place for like 30, 40 Euro's a night. I like I'm being mindful and smart about money and just, you know, it's exciting. It's exciting just to have the opportunity to, you know, say where you can and feel like, you know, you're getting a lot for your value. So with this being said, the place I got when I agreed to the place, I got it for four nights, I ended up staying in Naxos for 10 nights. I just kept extending and extending.
I was right on the beach and I was all by myself and it was a great, great trip. And I actually went to anti-pattern rose, which is, you know, like a 15 minute boat ride there's patos island and auntie paddles. I was told Rita and Tom Hanks have a property on the island of, I don't know if it's instead of like lugging all my stuff with me and going, I just kept my stuff in Naxos. Since I was only paying like 30, 40 years a night, it was like, kind of like a storage fee where it's like, boom, I just kept my myself there. And I just had like a backpack or a light tote, or you can just like get stuff there. Cause you know, you're shopping for things.
You can get coolest stuff for like 10 30 euros and like food and everything. But yeah, you have to be careful because a lot of some places on the islands, they don't take credit cards. So you have to make sure you have cash with you. And you're paying for certain things, items and foods. I mean, most people take credit cards, but there are some places in Greece that actually don't. So make sure you always have some cash on you. The purpose of telling the short story and hack is that when I went to Naxos just to embrace doing nothing and create space for myself, just to realign, rebalance, refocus. And just to let go of a lot of pent up stuff, a lot of judgment, a lot of regret, a lot of blame, a lot of shame.
And I was just being super hard on myself. So of course others, but super, super hard on myself. And so I went to this one, right? When you're arriving, Naxos there's a ruin that you can see it's called Puerto Vallarta in Greek means door. And like the only thing left standing. So it's called Bertha. That's the name of this ruin it's gorgeous. You can Google Naxos N a X O S and a, you can see images, they have a lot of ruins. So I definitely recommend going to that island. It's a traditional island where it's not like making us in San Tarini where everything's blue and white, like you think of Greece or the images from the pictures. It doesn't have any of that.
It's just, it's one of the, I call it a cherry island. It's just, well-preserved, it's really, really beautiful and huge. And there's, it's known for its exports, best potatoes and marble. So it's one of the largest exports for marble. So when you're going around the island on the tour buses and everything, or driving around, if you get a car, you can see all these huge mountains with the marble. It's just, it's really, really, really beautiful. I went to this ruined thought that I've been to before years prior with, oh, with a friend of mine, from the church that I grew up going to. And so I knew about the island because of her. The Kia is her name. I went there by myself and I went there around before the sunset. It was before it was really, really busy cause it's really busy there during sunset.
And I just sat there for a few hours and from coaches and people I've met along the way on my spiritual path, life path, you know, about surrender and Forgiveness, those two words, surrender and Forgiveness. So I just sat there and I just reflected and thought about all the people who I wanted to forgive. All the people that I felt wrong. Me, all the people I felt, you know, I had a disagreement with or negative thoughts and emotions that came up from, you know, anger, any of these things. So I just, I just took responsibility and I'd be like, I'm responsible for this. And I forgive this and I surrender to this, or I would forgive this person or that forgive this thing.
If it was an, if it wasn't a person, but it was a circumstance or situation, then I'd be like, I'm respon responsible for this. I forgive this, I surrender this. And I kind of did it in a trio when I did that. And I had like a full cleansing, I thought, okay, like this is going to be the ticket to just like really forgiving those things. A couple of those people, I thought I already forgave a couple of people. I thought, you know, like, oh, I forgive. And then like it's done. And sometimes it is sometimes it's not. But sometimes when you forgive, sometimes it comes up again, some things are so deep rooted and then you have to apply and know like sometimes it's not going to always just go away. I was watching this TV series recently, one of the lines, it was just so clever.
And I'm paraphrasing here, but they're like, you know, the past never really goes away. It just lingers in the air. Some people say, oh yeah, the past is the past and it's gone and that's easy to say. And sometimes it is sometimes it's just gone and it's never going to happen again. And you know, it's done. Okay. And that may be so, but sometimes it may come up again, the person, the experience that thought you may be re-triggered. And so this is where I want to share with you. It's a time it's a remembrance to apply the practice, to rise up to the occasion and be like, okay, this is the situation. Wow. I have a lot more forgiving to do one particular person. It just like comes up all the time. And each time, like a year ago, by a second year goes by a couple of years, goes by and I'm like, oh yeah, I forgave this person.
And then stuff still comes up and it's just like, oh my God. And it's like a, yeah, it's a practice. It's a practice. It's a practice over and over again. You know, it's, it's being human being and it's just gonna, it's just like an ocean wave that comes and goes, comes and goes like clouds that come and go that come and go, and we're on a roll and we're going, we're going. And then boom, like, you know, it happens again. And it's just like, but then, you know, sometimes it's, and, but sometimes it's just like, no, I just, I'm just going to go and do it and you need to do it. So sometimes it's macro or micro, depending on where you are in your life with all this being said, I can share with you. I take all of it. And I put it into my work.
I put into my work as an actor. It's given me this experience thus far in life where I can take it and apply it into my characters on screen and TBM film. And also through animation, you can take all these experiences with all these people and apply it to your craft, to your work. If you're not an actor and you're listening to this, you can put it into your music or writing. You know, if you're a DJ, it's the music you choose. The beats that you make. You can go and put it in to all this. Like my music partner, Niki Scorpio, his outlet is music. When some things he's angered or frustrated or emotional or up or down excited, anything, he'll just go and like put his headphones in and just start making beats or write something, record something.
I write poetry. And sometimes I have that writer's block. Sometimes it's hard to have the discipline to sit down and write, write, write, just especially with all the distractions in the world and all the things that I'm into. It's sometimes really hard to focus on being consistent with writing, which I'm always reminded of and, and practicing I wrote today and I'm proud of myself and I did, and I don't know the next time I'll write, but I know that I am a writer and that, you know, it doesn't always have to be applied to a thrive global article or a Huffington post article, something that someone's going to read for, you know, a poetry book or something. Sometimes you can just write for yourself. And then later on that could turn into something or even just for the moment of writing for yourself, you know, it's very therapeutic.
So there's, there's some things that I wanted to share with you on Forgiveness. And at the end of the episode, I'll put on the song it's called Forgiveness is key. And my music partner, Nikki Scorpio connected me with subtle energy and it has 639 Hz healing frequencies, which foster forgiveness per self and others in relationship. So it's really cool to have the Healing Frequencies apply to the beats. And I'm super grateful for the introduction and for creating this magic. It's exactly what it is. Magic. Also, if you're an actor and listening to this, I definitely want to suggest actors connection, the actors connection. They have this free at three going on right now.
So if you're east coast, it's free at three at 3:00 PM, but if you're west coast, then it would be at 12:00 PM. And they're just having these free at threes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they're actually recording them now. So there's playback. So any ones that you've missed that they recorded, you can watch them. And it's getting insight and tips from managers, agents, casting directors. I've been on so many of the sessions and I've met this woman about hosting. And I created a hosting reel with all the footage that I have during the pandemic. And I met a guy named Martin. If you haven't heard the podcast with Martin Benson on brand, on your, on branding, your artists, I definitely suggest that's the episode right before this one.
It's really, really important to be on brand with your actor and for your artists. And then right now, my sister, she got me this volume kit, V I O M E. You can Google it. Viome you can look at the creator. I listened to this podcast with Jay Shetty, with Nevine who is the creator of Viome. So if you listen to the Jay Shetty podcast, which I highly recommend, you could get this 10% discount. You just type in Jay Shetty. He has a podcast called on purpose. If you want to check it out. But yeah, anyways, I've been really grateful for my sister because she gifted me. This Viome kit. It gives you your microbiome, and I'm not going to get into the details right now on it. They're really user-friendly oh, something I wanted to share with you was I love quotes and like really I'm really big into quotes. My niece who's homeschooling right now. She shared with me one of her homework assignments. And she had me read this quote that she, I guess they had a, for the project. They had to choose a quote and she's 12 years old and she gave me, she did a quote by Anne Frank. And it goes like this. How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment.
Before starting to improve the world. There's so much wisdom there. I'm like, wow, what? Seriously? 12 years old. It was really moving. Huh? Interesting. Now I have like ads coming up for Viome. So it's 2020 and I've been reflecting almost 20 years ago. I left home to set sail for my dreams and my goals and my ambitions almost 20 years ago, two decades. I was a teenager and I wanted to go and explore the dreamland of all my fantasies of all my dreams coming true. And as a young girl, I set sail and I had these goals and I had this blueprint of who I wanted to be and what I wanted to become. And I reflect, and I've been reflecting of these 20 years, two decades modeling, acting, performing, singing stand-up comedy improv, dramatic on TV and films, touring with 50 cent around the world and Africa and Europe being in films around the world, deejaying intimate parties.
It's been quite the journey, quite the experience. I think after 20 years of doing all that, I've done everything I've experienced traveling around the world. I mean, in the 1% of the 1% luxury resorts, all the things that you see, all the things I saw on TV, all the fantasies as a kid flying around on private jets and having the ultimate experience. I remember like one time someone said to me, years ago, they're like, yo, what you've experienced in one year in California, my first year in California, what I experienced my first year is what people don't experience in a lifetime.
What I experienced in my first year in California is something, some people in California never experienced in a lifetime. I've had such a unique path and journey thus far, and I'm so grateful for my life and my how for God and the universe for my family. Family's always been really, really important to me. I've held on so tight, like an umbilical cord. I've just been so connected and it's been quite the process and journey of disconnecting that umbilical cord. So I could be, you know, living from myself and operating from self independently in the world. I was just like really, really emotionally attached to my family.
We were just like, so interconnected on so many different levels with our family and our values and our morals and yeah, that's a whole nother podcast. All right, cool. Thank you again for tuning in.
