I come from a big Greek family on my dad's sides, Greek, and I'm named after my father's mother. KTF Kula in the Greek tradition. We're named after saints and goddesses. And fortunately I'm named after my best friend in the whole entire world. That's how I got the name. Kyriaki she's a Saint. When I was younger, growing up, my mom didn't want people to make fun of me. She wanted me to have a quote, unquote, more normal names. So they made me Katie. So growing up as a kid, I was very rambunctious. Oh, rebel child, wild, wild, wild. Anything goes guys. The limit, infinite possibility.
So full of color, vibrant love, positive energy, unconditional, everything. I was just this ball of firecracker energy. Everyone called me intense. Oh, oh, oh. Some people called me high-strung and I was like, mom, do anything, man. I can't even have dessert. Again. People, some people would call me crazy with the K. That was my nickname for like a lot of my teenagers. People were like crazy, crazy with the K I'm like DC. People think I'm crazy. I'm like, this is normal. They're nuts
Let me take you back to when I was really young. So I remember we have these things called VHS tapes and they have video of me, like almost in diapers with a long broomstick singing. So it's like meant to be right. I've always lived in the wheelhouse of positivity and, and that's really been my metaphor at a very young age to set the presidents of my platform in the way I see my lens of the world. I have all this wealth of experience and knowledge that has happened through my lifespan thus far.
And it's just like bubbling and sizzling out out of me. And I just want to share and care and gift as much information as possible. It's like been wanting to burst out of me for the longest time. I was 14 years old. I was living at home. I had these ideas that I would call up hotels, rent them out, live space for like a day or two and do these long conferences like these seminars and charge people like $250 at the time. And they could come and lunch would be included or there would be a lunch break and people would come and I'd be on a stage and I would speak and I would share and tell people things that they needed to know. And I already knew it and I knew I, I could have done this.
And then I stopped me for me. I didn't do it because I thought to myself, who's going to listen to a young 14 year old girl who hasn't been of the world yet. Like why would someone listen to me? So I stopped myself from myself. I went on this journey of life. And so circling back around, I feel like this is a moment of being able to have a strong platform to sit and stand on and share my experiences because they, they are, I love sharing with people. It makes me so excited. If fulfills me so much to share, I can't stop talking. I'm a walking, talking billboard for anyone and anything I believe in hands down.
I'm just like top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top, top. This mission is so important to me and you're here. So it must be important to you.
