The State of Being an Artist – World Wisdom

The State of Being an Artist – World Wisdom
She's All Over The Place Podcast Season 1 - Episode 7 Transcription Thank you so much for tuning into She's All Over the Place with Kyriaki that's me, Meditate and, and, and read, listen to audio books and, and just stay in your art, whatever you see fit for being an artist that's being, you know, your soul. I think it's super important to always feed the soul, not the ego. Ooh. Hi jams. I am so excited right now. Literally, we're talking about my favorite topic in the world. Being an artist, what artistry means to me, art, art, art.

That's the only thing that matters to me is art. Seriously. I used to love art, everything. Art inspired, everything. I think about everything I do, the way I move. It's like being in a ballet. It's a dance. I was just with friends over the weekend and my friends who are all artists that were there, they were looking at my plate. They took, they took a photo. They like boomerang on Instagram. And they took a photo of my plate of food, because they're like, it's so pretty. And so colorful. It was aesthetically beautiful. Just to look at my plate, like out of like 40 people there, I won like best plate, like best platter affair.
So I'll even like, get it, show you a little clip of that if you want, because I have a, I have a photo of it. Listen, there's always going to be those people who try to put you in a box. Oh, awkward. You broke the ice. You went straight for the Gusto. Whoa, whoa, whoa, breaky, energetic patterns. Like that's a story of my life. And I can just say like leave or don't go around them because they're everywhere. If the majority of the people. So when you're an artist and you're speaking your voice and you're just being, you people admire that in a way that they're distant all. And a lot of times they don't have the communication to inform you and let you know that.
So it's really important just to like, you know, feed the soul, feed the soul when people can say what they want to do all day. Like, let's say we're at dinner with mom and dad. And it's like all the family drama going on. It's like, okay, I can't wait to get up from this dinner table so I can go to my room and just put on headphones and make beats or like DJ or like write or cry. It's like, oh, let me get this negative energy off of me. Or it's like, you don't have the language. Like knowing it's like negative energy. You're just like, let me get whatever this is off of me. And you don't process and make that. But you're just like, you know, you just we're, we're in action. We're like human beings, you know, that are always inaction.
So, so yeah, it's like every, every place I operate from, whether it be, you know, furniture, places in the world, nature, beauty, clothing, someone's personality, some the way someone looks like, just like that graceful essence of like purity. That essence of beauty that inspires me as an artist. Being an artist to me is the discovery of the unknown. We're all here on this beautiful life journey. And every day, every moment, there are so many moments in the day where we can just learn. It's an opportunity to learn and grow.
It's always changing. It's always the unknown. It's always something new. And for me, that's so exciting, you know, like ever since I was younger and then along my journey so far, it seems to me, everyone tries to put an individual into a box like, oh, you hang out with these kinds of friends. You're this kind of person, oh, you're a, did these kinds of things. Or you can come from this community or this kind of background. So like you're here to, you know, be in these programs and then you'll be in afterschool activities in sports or, or doing other things or not. And, and then, and then you're gonna go after high school and you're going to get a college degree and you're going to go away and you're going to have a full scholarship or your parents are going to be able to pay for your education, or you're going to get some loans and go into debt.
And it's like, you go through this process and then you graduate. And then it's like, okay, you go out into the world, like Goring, like, you know what I mean? They wanted me to be a part of like, you know, the sorority sisters and the RA cheerleaders and the pompoms. And I mean, there's nothing wrong with any of that. But for me, it's like, I marched to the beat of my own drum, you know, like I make my own music up in my head. Yeah, sure. I love listening to music and love being inspired by music and love listening to people and love seeing and observing what everyone else is doing. But the cool thing about being a human being and being an artist is you can observe everything that's going on.
You can feel everything that's going on and you can experience new things to feel new things. And just always like be putting like a different recipe inside, you know, the pot of soup. There are so many struggles in life, right? And there's so many struggles in being an artist. And most of it is listening to what other people have to say when you're, when you're true to who you are and you quiet the noise. I feel like it's more blissful and more simplistic finders, always challenges. But listening to other people has definitely been like a huge no-go for me, because I, you know, was really connected to my core as a youngster.
And I kind of just did things my own way. And then along my journey, I just decided to like find out we can World wanted from me. And I would talk to people who became mentors. People. I admired people. I would reach out to people who had certain obtainable things, maybe on paper or materialistic things that looked like an outer success. Like, oh, these are things. These are like longterm goals that I can gravitate towards. And that's exactly what it is. It's like, you see something outside of yourself and it's like, okay, this is a goal. This is a focus. And along the journey, you're not going to take on everything.
So kind of have that inner conversation and that inner balance about like, take what you will leave, what doesn't serve you and be appreciative and in gratitude for what you're learning along the way for another artist or a human being or a business person or anyone who's open to helping and giving you information and knowledge. But then there's the kind of people who take advantage of that vulnerability, dim, your light, play smaller, be quiet. You're too loud, Phil. If you're not very clear with certain intentions, morals, and values and our direction of where you want to go, which is a lot of times, because as an artist, the exciting thing is you don't know.
But then the opposite side of the sword is not knowing can get you into trouble or hinder you in ways where it's like, like I said, if you're vulnerable, people can be vultures and take advantage of you. And then sometimes it's like, they're so bored in their lives. They'll just hear you story talk storytell and talk all day. And they're just like entertained by you. Does your

So this is an amethyst, okay. It's for intuition to crystal. I love crystals. A lot of our planet were built on, you know, crystals and stones concrete for me personally, there's there's this amethyst. And let's say you're feeling some things, anxiety. You're feeling certain things. You can just hold onto it and the crystal will absorb and just take the energy. It's one of the things I like. It's one of the things I do. I also love doodling. So maybe you see a couple of clips of my doodles. I love painting.
So maybe you can show a couple clips of my paintings. What do you like to do as an artist? Do you like to be involved in music? See shows, get your hands in pottery knit, write comics. I mean, there's so many different things and I want to hear all about it. So for yourself and for your artists do like five things this week and then make a commitment and do five things every single week that just inspire you and make you happy. And it you'll just feel, it just like comes up through the gut, through the heart and just like out your mouth. And then all of a sudden, like you feel it from the inside and then you just like, you'll start glowing.
And just like speaking, you know, the conversation, the words of the positivity, I want to hear all about it. So leave the comments below, let me know how you see yourself as an artist and then go out there and do some things and email me, let me know about it and make sure you like subscribe, click the ding bell. And yeah, let's just, you know, get colorful. I love all of you seriously, your bright, beautiful gems. And until next time we'll, I'm sorry. I lost it Phil until next time.
See you later, alligator, just remember with everything happening in the world. Mental health is so important, just like physical health and kindness and compassion. So always keep it clean, healthy, and safe in everything that you do otherwise get crazy and play around with the brightest colors in the world. Peace out. Thank you so much for joining us. We'll see you next time. Kyriaki, over and out.
